Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

I was preparing some future blog posts and a thought occurred to me that I might be a bit odd when it comes to how many body cleansers I keep stocked in my shower. Let’s discuss…

I currently have three different body washes AND one soap to choose from in my shower.  I like switching up scents to match my mood and I also like being able to change up the way my skin feels after usage of each one.  Except for the fact that the soap pictured below is NOT the one I have in the shower (because it’s just a sliver now and the last bar I have in that scent), this is the current situation:

Clockwise from top left: Avon Senses Silky Vanilla Hydrating Shower Gel; Avon Skin So Soft Supreme Nourishment Oil-Infused Foaming Body Wash; Avon Clearskin Blemish Clearing Acne Body Wash; and, Frog Garden Crafts Dreamsicle Soap

Avon’s Senses Silky Vanilla Hydrating Shower Gel has been a mainstay in my shower for decades!  It’s also the body wash I take with me when I travel.  The gel lathers up nicely with a pouf and lightly moisturizes my skin.  It has a lovely vanilla scent (like cookies!) that never clashes with any other fragrance(s) I may choose to layer on after I dry off.

Avon’s Skin So Soft Supreme Nourishment Oil-Infused Foaming Body Wash is a relatively new addition to my body wash menagerie. I am addicted.  As a gal with oily skin it seems to go against logic to use an oil based body wash but it actually leaves my body clean, soft and nourished rather than extra oily!  The added bonus for me is that since it moisturizes my skin, I can (and often do) skip applying another one of my favorite products, Avon’s Moisture Therapy In-Shower Body Lotion.

Avon’s Clearskin Blemish Clearing Acne Body Wash has also been a resident in my shower for decades.  As discussed in the above paragraph, I have oily skin which causes breakouts All. The. Time.  If it’s hot outside or I’ve worked out, I NEED THIS so I don’t have to be seen in winter clothing year round.  It has a clean scent and doesn’t dry my skin out like other body products containing salycylic acid.  Sadly, Avon discontinued this product in their Clearskin line. ::sad face::  I did manage to snatch up about 15 bottles on clearance, so I should be covered until they change their minds and bring it back!

Frog Garden Crafts is owned and operated by my best partner in crime!  Not only is she one of my most favorite people, but I loooooove her handmade scented soaps! She takes custom orders (!!!) so I forced her to make a Dreamsicle soap for me a few years ago. It’s now my favorite summer scent and one of her best sellers!  At first glance it’s impossible to miss how beautiful the soaps are – they always have a swirl of color(s) on top and sometimes added bits like oatmeal or pop rocks too!  FUN!  Aside from the soaps being so pretty you almost don’t want to use them, they greatly soften my skin and are wonderfully fragrant – so much so that my mouth waters when I am using Dreamsicle itself!

While you may diagnose me with scent A.D.D., this collection makes perfect sense to me –  and I am wide open to the idea of adding more to the mix should I find something else that I can’t live without! So, am I alone on this one?  Let me know which body cleansing product(s) you keep stocked in your shower!

Nope, you’re not the only one. I’m a ‘Bath and Body Works’ girl, myself but I have to admit that the description of these Avon shower gels have me curious. It also helps that the prices aren’t bad either. 😉

There are SO MANY different shower gels Avon carries in a variety of great scents – and they put out seasonal ones too. You can’t beat Avon’s sale prices!
