We all seem to have a love/hate relationship with bobby pins. They are a necessary evil when trying to keep complicated hairstyles in place or sometimes simply to keep stray strands pulled back. And that’s where the hate part of the relationship comes in: they don’t tend to stay put.
Today’s hack is surprisingly simple but, I’ve noticed that more often than not, many people use bobby pins wrong. Did you know there was an incorrect way to use bobby pins? My mind was seriously blown when I found out this trick a few years ago.
Most folks put bobby pins in so that the bent up side remains facing away from the scalp, but the proper way to use bobby pins is exactly the opposite! Next time you need to use bobby pins, try putting them in with the bent up side against your scalp and be amazed when you’ve made it through an entire day without having had to fuss with the pins or, worse, realizing you lost some during the day!
BONUS TIP: Another trick to get bobby pins to stay put is to use two of them by making an “X” across each other…with both bent up sides against your scalp, of course!

Woooooow!!!!! Seriously?! I have bobby pins in my hair right this minute (I’m home and have my hair in pin curls) and they keep falling out…I’m about to re-do my hair thanks to this post.😁

Not yet – I’m behind on my reading…and everything else. My boss unexpectedly passed away yesterday. I’m a wreck.

Yup, I only have one boss. I’m the next one down on the management ladder from him.
