A couple of weeks ago I talked Alicia into answering a bunch of my questions for an interview/guest post – as per usual, she didn’t disappoint!

First, a little bit about Alicia:

She is a fellow Avon rep, a powerhouse social media marketer and the blogger behind Word of Alicia,  Her stunning fashion photos and product displays are always inspiring.  She always has kind words to offer and isn’t shy to offer fashion advice when asked (she’s the one who gave me the styling idea for the photo that won me the entire Fall for Paris jewelry collection).  Smart, sweet and beautiful, this girl has it all!

When/why did you start blogging?

Nicki, my bestie, said her friend from college started a blog because she needed a life project and that always kinda stuck in my head. When I was sharing so much on FB about mark. I was like why not do a blog as kind of a repository for all this… and a life project.

Top 5 favorite looks you’ve featured on blog?

2016 was my 5 year blogging anniversary and I did a post that highlighted my key posts and fave looks.

Post 2016 I’d say:

Nails, lips and statement necklaces, yep! (2017)

Loved collaborating with effervescent Linda and loved LOVED both our looks. (2017)

I love mod, and beauty swatches. The 60s are my spirit animal. (2017)

I’m all about a one shoulder, anything patriotic, blue stripes and warm sun! (2018)

Cute pieces and cute kitty… that I now know is a boy so no longer named Autumn but Bandit.. guess I should go back and make an editors note 😉 (2018)

Top 3 favorite beauty/fashion bloggers?

Shaaanxo – YouTuber so not really a blogger, but she’s my fave to watch on YouTube and one of the few I set notifications for. She’s my makeup guru even though she favors warm tones and I favor cool tones, but I get makeup and beauty inspo and techniques from her.

sarahtondello – Instablogger. She’s only on Instagram but another one I actually have a notification set for. She’s a real girl wearing real girl wear to work clothes and weekend looks. That’s what I like about her. And does a ton of try on’s which I can appreciate!

The Sweetest Thing Blog – She is your classic fashion blogger. She’s casual, brunette, tall and has items way out of my price range… complete opposite of me which is why I like her. She’s got a great personality, and adorable dog and family and her pics are eye candy.

Living After Midnite – Jackie, an ex-mark. rep and fellow Word of Alicia collaborator is the first blogger to reach out to me to even do a collab, I didn’t even know that was a thing. I love her more colorful and saturated photography in a world of clean, white and millennial pinks.

Sealaura – Is a blogger, previous rep and now real life friend! She’s got one of the better themes to her blog and is real life. I love her travel pics and reviews and now living in Hawaii its like a insta-vacation!

What/who would be your dream collab?

I never gave it much thought, anyone willing to say yes.

Words of wisdom to aspiring bloggers?

Just start it see where it goes…

When/why did you become an Avon rep?

I quit my moonlighting gig at Brooks Brothers, I couldn’t go to my cousin’s 30th birthday and evaluating my budget on non-essentials made me need another second job. I googled Mary K, Avon, etc… mark. was free at the time to sign up, so I did and never looked back.

Favorite beauty/fashion tip?

Oh gosh I don’t know… Inner eye brightening is the key to looking awake. My wardrobe secret is the Express Bra Cami I wear it under everything. It smooths and lifts. I swear by the Walmart heel grips and shoe liners. Just the cheap foam ones not the expensive rubber ones. They make 4 hour shoes into 8 hour shoes.

What accessory are you currently obsessing over?

I was just on a shoe kick and picked up a ton of new fresh pieces for the far too many shoe collection. Being a size 5 it’s hard to find on trend pieces at a good price so when I see them I snatch them up. I ordered some navy boots from Shoedazzle, white closed mule booties from Express, classic black pumps and snakeskin slides from Nordstroms Rack. Slides are definitely a current obsession.

Favorite/proudest beauty/fashion memory?

Going through mom’s basket of makeup in the bathroom. I always took her eyeliner and she was always yelling if I took it upstairs. Mom in general, it all came from mom. She told me blondes look good in red (she’s a brunette), sealed the deal on always using a bath oil and has more jewelry than you, guaranteed!
