Valentine’s Day called for festive heart earrings from Avon’s Hugs and Kisses Stud Earring Trio! Unfortunately, this trio was only a limited edition item and it has sold out.

Lipmania continued on Friday and I doubled up to close out the work week in Avon’s True Color Nourishing Lipstick in Roasted Chestnut topped off with Crave Lip Gloss in Salted Caramel color/scent – delicious!!
Roasted chestnut doesn’t match its moniker, it’s actually a pinkish beigy nude hue that’s really lovely, but it doesn’t knock you out with its intense color. The salted caramel gloss is mouthwatering…and more gloss than color. I really liked these two paired up!

Ok, I have to ask, how do you get your brows done so perfectly? I love those shades of gloss and lipstick, but it’s way too peach/orange and it looks very orange in me 🙁

About 20 years ago, I used brow guides and a white liner to mark them so I could shape them how I wanted. Since then, I tweeze them regularly (about 2 times per week) to keep the shape cleaned up , then fill in with Glimmersticks Brow Liner in Blonde and set the whole thing with a clear brow gel. I’ve been doing my brows the same way for long, I’ve got it down to a science now.

Oh man I wish I was that lucky. I use a brow guide, and nothing stayed on me until I found Maybelline tattoo brow gel. Add to that I have very sparse brows and I only have half a left brow (tweezed it to death in the 80’s) and never grew back. That’s my very sad brow story, lol.

I only used brow guides once to get the shape I wanted. I’ve never needed them again.
I’m not sure I understand what you mean when you say nothing stayed on you. Do you mean makeup products intended for the brows?
Overtweezing was popular, but I never jumped on that boat. Mine were all natural until the end of the 90s when it became popular to have super sculpted arches – THEN I jumped on the train!
Have you tried applying a lash and brow serum to your brows? I’ve used it on my lashes and it’s been great, though I don’t have a need for it on my brows. I’ve heard from others that it works great on brows too. You might want to test it out for a few month to see if it improves your brow situation.
There are lots of brow gels that have fibers in them to assist with filling in and making it appear more natural. Have you tried any of those?

Yes, I had never found brow makeup that would stay on all day until the Maybelline one. And I started using castor oil on my brows because one of the girls at work recommended it. She had very fine sparse brows and it been almost a year and her brows are filling in nicely. I’ve tried brow products with those fibers in them, unfortunately they’d fade or smudge off during the day. I’ve also started using castor oil on my lashes too. But I’ve had some recent issues with them staying curled, they just won’t, it’s so frustrating. I have very long lashed and they use to curl but the last six months or so they REFUSE to stay curled, even with waterproof mascara, ugh!

I use a heated eyelash curler and curl them after the mascara has dried – as long as I don’t end up crying, my lashes usually stay curled.

Not even a heated curler has helped, I’m beyond frustrated. I will let you know the results on the great castor oil experiment.

About 20 years ago I got my eyelashes permed so they’d be curly all the time – it was AWESOME! It lasted 2-3 months. When I went back to have them redone, they were no longer offering that service and I didn’t spend the time calling around to see who else did – I’m sure it would be easier to locate that service with the internet now.
