Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

I broke out the big guns for date night in Avon’s Rhinestone Statement Necklace and Sterling Silver CZ Winter Flower Earrings!  When you buy a necklace with “statement” in the name, you have a certain level of expectation.  This necklace is heavy, and laden with a ton of rhinestones, so I expected it to sparkle like it belonged in the night sky…but, it doesn’t.  When expectations aren’t met or exceeded, disappointment sets in–and that’s exactly what happened when I wore the necklace for the first time.  Had I known it wouldn’t dazzle, I’d probably have skipped purchasing this piece.  However, the earrings delivered every ounce of sparkle the necklace lacked…and then some!  You can’t tell in the photos, but the earrings pop with a rainbow of sparks in the light, and boy was I impressed.  They claim to be winter flowers, but they looked a lot more like shimmering bows that belong on top off an elaborate and expensive package–perfect for a date night look!

“Pearls are always appropriate.” – Jackie Kennedy

Avon’s 3-Piece Grey Pearly Set (the bracelet is not pictured) is classic with a twist–both because of the grey hue and the single bejeweled bead on the strand to create a focal point of interest.  You can never go wrong with pearls because they go with everything and are always tasteful.  This set falls right in line with every expectation I had, so there’s not much else I can add except that this is a beautiful set, and I’m happy it’s part of my collection.

Who else is ready for their peppermint party?!  In Avon’s Peppermint Party Necklace and Earring Set, I am!  How cute is this set?!  The necklace looks like a delicious candy dish is hanging around my neck!  I cinched it up to hang at the collar level, but it can hang much lower if desired.  This fun set was my “festive” accessory for my office’s virtual holiday party–and even over video, it still got noticed!  As simple as the earrings are, I felt like they played their part well without being “not enough.”  I don’t tend to purchase many holiday specific pieces, because I can’t wear them year-round, but I’m glad I didn’t pass this one by!

Those are all of the past week’s selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!

🤣 I thought you were talking about the garnet pear set! I should’ve known though—you love pearls as much as I do!

I loved all of them, except the Rhinestone Statement Necklace…which was a giant disappointment.

I don’t think the pear set is sold out (yet), so you’ve got time.

      1. Really? You were disappointed by the rhinestone necklace? Why, was it underwhelming? Or the opposite?

I discussed it in the post—it didn’t sparkle at all. 👎🏻

          1. Aww….no sparkle is definitely a disappointment. It looks like it has massive sparkle on the Avon website, I thought maybe it could be the phone camera. You know they don’t capture the shine like they should. Bummer.

Yeah, it fell way short. It was almost unnoticeable on me with the patterned dress behind it.
