Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

Curious to know more about the Avon lady, eh?ย  Let’s cut to the chase: you can read about my Avon journey here. Oh, you want to know more about me personally? Well, read on!

SIDE NOTE #1: I am not cool–and I am okay with that.

By day I work at a large Portland, Oregon law firm as a legal assistant/department coordinator. Despite my formal writing style (you did read what I do for a living, right?), I don’t take myself too seriously, nor do I have any difficulty in making a fool out of myself.

I am happily married and a mother of two adult children. My daughter was born in 1992 and my son was born in 1994. I’m insanely proud of them both–they each inspire me in different ways.

My husband and I have one cat and while he’d love to add a dog to the mix, so far I’ve managed to keep that acquisition at bay. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs, but I ain’t got no time for that–dogs are way needier than cats!

I am terrified of grasshoppers and crickets–I don’t do random. My fear probably borders on a phobia. I also refuse to admit it is a phobia. I’m probably on the OCD scale, but I don’t care enough to find out for sure. I am Type A, an overachiever, and Irish–which basically means I do things with relish and a temper. I swear like a sailor in person and have a dry, sarcastic wit. I’m your run-of-the-mill smart-ass soccer mom.

A few of my hobbies include hiking, bowling, playing pool, singing karaoke, doing crosswords, reading, eating nachos, running, and taking naps. A few of my hates include traffic, chaos, and most veggies. I’m also a salt fiend rather than a sugar hound.

In January 2012, I began a journey towards bettering my health and by mid-2013, I had reached my weight loss goal of 40+ pounds! In January 2013, I started running/power walking and it not only changed my body, it changed my life!

SIDE NOTE #2: Despite exercising regularly and generally being healthy, I still possess a mama belly, flabby triceps, and cellulite. These facts irk me, but I seem to care less the older I get.

Have you read something above that strikes a chord? Then contact me!ย  If you have questions or simply want to say hi, you can get in touch with me via my contact page or the links in the sidebar!

I was trying to find Thursday’s post and stumbled on this instead…Very cool “About me” post.

So people can just contact you like just to say hi, even if they don’t want to buy a product?

Of course – you think I only talk to people if they buy Avon from me? I talk to you and you’ve never bought Avon from me! ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s a risk I take, but I don’t actively worry about stalkers. As an Avon lady, my contact info is public.
