  1. Monday – drives me up the wall. Of course. I’ve heard about saying ‘stop’ in such situations and that has somewhat worked. Of course it needs to be followed by other appropriate words.
Tuesday – Yep. Just the other day, I stayed in bed after my alarm went off as the AC was blowing and I was trying to wait it out (I don’t like getting up in the cold). Next thing I knew it, it was an hour later… Working from home has definitely helped with the passing time of work as I feel more comfortable and don’t dread work. Of course the job change helped, too. Speaking of, how have you been feeling lately?
    Wednesday – tomorrow never comes…
Thursday – as a competitor, that’s a hard one to pass up on, but I try
    Friday – ha!
    Saturday – true
    Sunday – lol

Re Monday: I think it depends on what kind of calming down is needed. If it’s simple anxiety, and the words “calm down” are spoken lovingly and soothingly, it may have the intended effect; however, those circumstances are rarely in play when the phrase is used, and only further incites the individual who is running on high emotion.

I’m so glad the new gig is providing positive results for you–it’s a long time coming! The last two weeks I’ve managed to only work minimal overtime (less than five hours), one attorney has officially been moved off of my desk, and one of my remaining attorneys has been on vacation, so I’m feeling a little less on edge than before. I’m hoping that will continue when I move my mandatory in-office days to an office that’s a lot closer to home in another week–it will mean A LOT less commuting (saving money on gas and time spent in the car), cheaper parking, and I won’t have to pay state income tax any longer. I will also physically be in the same office as my most challenging attorney, so I’ll be able to stomp into his office and set him straight as needed–I think it will force him to get in line instead of just ignore me, which is his current M.O. I’m really looking forward to the change. Stay tuned!

It’s true that we’re almost always biding our time waiting for some future event–I really need to work on being more present in the moments that aren’t as enjoyable as sleeping in, relaxing, traveling, singing, etc. LOL

With age, I’m getting better about skipping arguments. I’ve got better things to do with my time and energy. That said, I can still be lured into an argument on issues that trigger me every dang time. LOL
