You know, that first one is a lot like my early experiences with my site. I used to submit links to my site to a famous link web site. Often, they’d greenlight me. Then, in the comments, the same group would go out of their way to put down whatever I posted. So, I continued to post because I wanted to get to the point where other people didn’t dictate how I felt about my own work. After about a year, I was satisfied and stopped submitting them…

Great story about rising above other people’s BS! I don’t take much personally (even when it’s directly aimed at me), which often ends up working against me—people assume I’m self-centered, cold, rude, you name it.

One of the Buddhist sutras was of a priest who insulted Buddha. Buddha asked him, “If you give me a gift and I don’t accept it, who owns it?”. The man replied, “I do”
So, he finished with, “I don’t accept your insult”

I like “Take nothing personally.” Sometimes people judge us before they know us. So if someone doesn’t respond to your good morning, smile a remain positive the rest of the day.

Exactly. While I generally am able to live by this credo, I definitely experience times that I take things personally. I think it’s unavoidable at least sometimes.
