No. He ran an engineering group I was in, but his real passion was books and old printed works of art. He patiently explained to me how my priorities were skewed and eventually I listened. I was a lot happier after.

Finding a mentor is not easy. At least in the official sense. People either don’t want others to learn, don’t have the time, or just don’t know how to mentor. But one also needs to know how to be a good mentee…

I’ve mentored several people. It’s really rewarding—often even more so to witness their success than to attain your own.
