I dont trust anyone who calls themselves a self-made 😂

In our culture people judge how well a person was respected by the attendance at their funeral…. There is a lot of reciprocation, when you support families in their times of need, those families in turn support you back in your darkest times… so yep in simple terms you attend other’s funerals so yours also get an attendance…
…. but there is also a thing about how we hold death and funerals in high regard versus someone being alive… people wont come visit you in hospital and they will have excuses when you make a call for help with medical expenses… but oh the funeral will be packed and people will contribute for an elaborate coffin and have you transported to your final resting place in a luxury hearse spending more money on you in death than they did in life….. end rant 😅

Cultural difference. Our culture seems to consider funeral attendance optional, outside of those closest to the decedent. I think it’s sad that funerals aren’t better attended here.

Agreed. My friend’s father died unexpectedly in the fall. I went to the funeral. I was shocked by the shortage of her friends in attendance. I didn’t know her dad, really, but you show up for the people you care about.

I’ve attended the funerals of folks I’ve never met or barely know so I could show my support for someone I care about who was devastated by the loss. Sadly, I am in the minority here. 😔

You are. And it is a shame. I think the loss of community feeling is a problem.

interesting …. I think what we need is a point of balance 🤔 between an over saturated attendance going into optional attendance

    “When in doubt, look intelligent.”

There was a story in the news a few weeks back because 45’s lawyer had given an interview where she said she’d rather be pretty than smart, because you can fake smart. Turns out not. She should’ve read Garrison Keillor.

That being said, I think Tuesday is my favourite. Which do you like best?

Oh, hell no—I’d most certainly prefer to be smart over pretty…thank god it worked out that way for me.

Wednesday wins for me this week.
