Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

Besties – we all have them. Work besties, school besties, hobby besties, longtime besties – they all get us through our lives with love, humor, understanding and, sometimes, a kick in the ass.

I’ve previously mentioned that I met my blogger bestie, Racquel, in person for the first time earlier this month.  She outdid me and wrote an entire blog post about the experience – go check it out here!

Gleefully stolen from Racquel Writes

Racquel writes a lifestyle blog and lets her big personality shine through every single post.  She is funny, sweet, intelligent and unbelievably inquisitive.  She actually cares about other people – a serious rarity in today’s “me-centric” world.

When I first laid eyes on her, my suspicions that she’s a stunner were confirmed.  I’m certain I openly stared to take her in.  She’s stupid tall and wore heels.  She’d told me what to expect, but I was still shocked by her beauty and presence. She asked so many questions that I barely got the chance to listen to her lovely light Jamaican accent.  Curious?  You can check her out on a recent podcast.

At some point in 2019, I will properly feature Racqs on my blog but, in the meantime, I will consider myself very lucky to count her among my friends and, especially, as my blogging bestie.

Much love to you, Racqs!

Definitely not until sometime in January – and, I promise, I’m not giving you the runaround. Let me explain a little why.

The owner of the law firm I’ve worked for during the past 8-1/2+ years passed away in October. As a result, the firm is closing. I have been piloting the closure solo for the past month and it’s rough going. This weekend in the move out date and 12/31 is my last official day on the payroll – I’ll be turning in the keys and security passes. All in all, I’ve had a crap ton on my plate with grieving the loss of my boss, losing my dream job, closing a law firm, getting through the holidays, handing my side hustle and preparing to search for a new gig. I’m frankly wiped the eff out right now…but things should look different in another 7-10 days after the firm is closed, I’ve applied for unemployment and properly gotten the ball rolling for a job search.

Oh, I will – just letting you know the reason behind my slowness to set a date. We’ll definitely do it though – I’m intrigued to see how our conversation goes considering we don’t really know each other!

I agree! It’s still surprising how we hit it off and how quickly we bonded. I think we’re blogging soulmates. 😀

    Awwwwww, great post!

Yes, I’m seriously inquisitive but that’s because I have a genuine interest in you. I do enjoy people and I am usually curious about others and what makes them tick. Trust and believe, however, if I get a vibe of unwillingness to share I back right off. No need for discomfort because of my curiosity. I’m super glad that you’ve been extremely open and warm with me. I am also thrilled that you have as much interest in me as I have in you. Major plus for our budding friendship.

Stunner???!! Oooooh, flattery will get you everywhere my dear, Heather. Ha!!!! *Blushing* 😊☺😚

Totally looking forward to the “proper feature” on your Blog, even though this post is pretty happening already. Thank you for the shout out and for linking to my podcast interview.

Much love to you too, Doll! You have been one of my highlights for 2018.😘

No reluctance to share here – the only times I’ve been reluctant was when I suspect someone’s curiosity is for some less than stellar ulterior motive. I shut up right quick then!

Serious question: Do you actually blush? I don’t…

You’re welcome – and yes, there will be more posts about you this next year!

      And you mine! ❤ ❤
