Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

The hubs and I had dinner with my blogging bestie Racquel in NYC which called for Avon’s Scarlett Velvet Dress adorned with the Iconic Pearly Wreath Pin clipped to the side (thanks for the idea, mom)!

This dress is so up my alley – the color, the cut, the style…it’s all me! Except my mom gets all the credit for placement of the wreath pin – genius!

Good bits: The dress is well made and classy. It screams sophistication and oozes luxury. The shade isn’t quite a jewel tone, but very near it, so it would work with just about every skin tone. Do you usually stay away from wearing greens? This may very well change your mind.

Not do good bits: I was disappointed that the dress was a bit too roomy on me which caused the gathers to hang weird. And I’d forgotten how much static velvet creates! I walked outside in the wind and regretted it for the next hour or so as it clung to me making static filled crackling pops.

We bopped around NYC in Avon’s Sunday Funday Tee (no longer available) – a sweet buy that I scooped up on clearance!

I was definitely late to the party again, but I picked up this tee on clearance and I don’t usually get dressed on Sundays – so this was my first time wearing it!

The tee is super comfy. Quality material. My two favorite things: the super cute split sleeves and the pearlesque dots on the wording!

We headed back home from NYC and I wore in Avon’s Luz Stella Teardrop Earrings – lightweight with a powerful style punch!

These earrings are larger than I thought they’d be – which isn’t a negative, they just hang lower and insist on being the star of the show. They are surprisingly lightweight and didn’t make any annoying sounds in the wind or while moving around. They definitely fancy up a casual outfit!

Are you looking for a little elegance? Check out Avon’s Felita Necklace and Earring Set – one of the Avon rep designed signature jewelry collections!  It’s an elegant and classic set – super sparkly and festive!

Those are all of the past week’s selfies! Which pieces were your favorite and how would you have styled them?

I wasn’t sure whether or not you’d be using one in a blog post and since your pics turned out better (the hubs failed to turn on his flash), I was leaving that up to you should you choose to use any.

Yes, that’s what I meant. I didn’t want to use your photos in case you wanted to use them. 🙂

I understood your initial comment….Nothing wrong if we both used the same set of photos. We seem to have different followers anyway and even if we didn’t, it doesn’t matter….But whateves…No biggie!!! 😉
