I didn’t hang the moon, but…Avon’s Celestial Moon Natural Stone Necklace and Rhinestone Huggie Hoop Earrings sure make it look like I did! The pendant on the necklace is a lot smaller than I imagined it would be, but I think I like it even better than if it had been larger. This whole quarantine/social distancing/working from home thing has thrown me off my statement piece game–even being in video meetings on the regular the statement pieces seem a little too…extra. As a result, I’ve been skipping necklaces altogether a lot the past several months, and featuring earrings instead. I feel like I can rock statement earring a little bit easier than a statement necklace. It’s a problem, I know…and I’m working on it; however, these daintier necklaces are the ones I’ve been gravitating to when I do wear them, so this one totally works. Huggie earrings are always a bit of a gamble with my fat lobes–tiny huggie earrings don’t fit, so I was delighted to find these accommodated my lobes just fine, with a little extra room even! These offer a ton of twinkly goodness, which matches up with the glint from the moon in the necklace–and the earrings themselves can be worn solo to bring a little fanciness to any Zoom meeting without going over the top.
Last Saturday was date night…in a restaurant!! I pulled out all the stops in Avon’s Rhinestone Waterfall Earrings–these things are a little package of fancy glitz for your lobes. They can carry an outfit solo, or you can go all-out and wear lots more “ice” for an even greater visual impact. They are a medium weight, so I didn’t need to use my magic earring backers to keep them in place–and I was worried I’d need to, so that was a pleasant surprise. While definitely a little too “extra” for every day wear, they will certainly make a repeat performance at some point when I dress up!
I don’t usually celebrate Mondays, but…just look at Avon’s Sterling Silver Celebration Cut Solitaire Ring, Necklace, and Stud Earrings!! These pieces all deliver on their promise to dazzle even more than diamonds! I’m not really a ring person, but I couldn’t pass this one up–not only was it really affordable, but if we get to go to Paris and Rome next year on vacation, I plan on swapping out my legit diamond wedding set for a CZ set–ain’t no gypsy gonna walk off with my jewels! And this set seriously passes for real! I’ve been wearing the earrings and necklace nearly every day since I cracked open their boxes (also, sorry I’ve not been posting as many selfies–this go-round it wasn’t because of a low inventory selection…I simply got “stuck” on this set). While I have zero complaints about the earrings and necklace, the ring’s baguette band is rough–poke-y and scratchy. I really wish it were a bit more smooth (and that it came in a 4-1/2, which is what my ring finger actually is…but that’s more of a “just me” issue–having child-sized appendages is cute and all, until you try to buy adult things to adorn them with, like jewelry, hats, and other accessories). All that said, I’m strongly considering purchasing a second set just so I have a backup–I love it that much!
A little bit of soft asymmetry…in Avon’s Soft Asymmetrical Hem Top! When they say soft, they really mean it! It’s the ideal weight for autumn–not so thin that you freeze during the crisp mornings, and not so thick that you want to rip it off due to overheating in the warmer afternoons. The length is a longer length, not quite tunic length, but close enough that you can get away with wearing leggings with it. The soft grey is a lovely neutral that can be accessorized with any other color or pattern. There’s only one “miss” with this top: the ruffle. I think it’s wrong for two major reasons: (1) the placement–right in the area I’m self-conscious about, so I’m not super excited the eye is drawn right to it because of the ruffle; and (2) it just looks like a mistake–the ruffle starts at the side seam near the waist, then moves around the front to stop about an inch or so short of the front hem near the top of the thigh. While I’d have preferred the ruffle weren’t there at all, it sure won’t be stopping me from wearing it this season!
