Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

I did my darnedest to destroy my first day jitters by busting out Avon’s Butterfly Charmed Choker Necklace and the tasteful, but gorgeous, drop earrings from the Lovely Luster Earring Duo!

It’s a choker; therefore, it must be mine. This one was a booger to get untangled out of the package but, once untangled, it performed its job beautifully! If I could change one thing, it would have the ability to cinch up tighter so I could wear it higher up on my neck. Wishin’ in one hand, spittin’ in the other…

Let’s not forget the earrings – the iridescence of the stones make these dangles something special to look at! Lightweight too!

Wednesday was a Chocolate Brownie kind of day thanks to Avon’s hip new flavored lip gloss line, Crave! I busted out the Autumn Romance Chocolate Pearly Earrings – a pair I picked up on clearance!

The chocolate brownie smelled more like chocolate frosting to me and it went on as a lighter tint than I thought it would. Don’t get me wrong, it still looked great and felt ::cough:: delicious…it’s just that I had expectations. And we all know how those go…

The earrings are absolutely darling buttons! I’ve been in a serious mood for pearls lately and these check all the boxes!

On Thursday I stepped out the door in my power shoes, Avon’s True Color Nourishing Lipstick in Black Cherry and the dainty pink studs in the Lovely Luster Earring Duo – I plan on making an impact…one way or another!

The lipstick shade is more maraschino cherry than black cherry on me, unless you’re talking about the stain left behind on your fingers. I was hoping for a deeper and richer red, but got more of a pink berry instead. It’s not awful, but it’s also not what I’d hoped it would be.

The earrings are a beautiful milky blush – a neutral, yet feminine, pair.

  1. I like how that shade of lipstick looks on you, it’s a nice red. I bought this same shade and on me it’s a very dark, almost brown shade. There goes our undertones messing things up for us again, ugh! Lol
I love that Butterfly triple strand necklace looks, very dainty yet classy.

Really? It’s too pink for my taste. When I wear pink, I prefer a good mauve and, sometimes, a soft baby pink when I’m looking for a more neutral or springy/summery feel. I don’t know why I can’t handle seeing my reflection with bright pink lipsticks on – I love them on other people! I really prefer darker lipsticks on me…they are my fave. I have to be careful that I don’t step into goth territory though – I’m not pale enough for that! 😉

There are 3 designs for that choker: a butterfly, a heart, and a cross. All are dainty and classic. I think that’s why I’m so drawn to chokers…the design is classically rooted. And they always look clean/simple. I love a good statement necklace too, but sometimes simple and spare makes a bigger (or better) statement with an outfit.

Thank you! I could point them out for you but I’m vain and will let you live believing a lie. 😉

For all the pounds of lipstick women eat every year, they should be at least tasty!
