Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

Last Saturday, I celebrated my birthday by having homemade tacos with the fam in Avon’s Sparkling Pink Statement Necklace and Earring Set!

Every girl deserves a princess birthday–and with the help of this set, I felt like I was dripping in jewelry fit for a princess!  The necklace, in particular, was a showstopper!  With the varying lengths of hanging glass stones, it makes just about every neckline luxurious.  Plus, white, pink, and gold together is a classic combo.  While the earrings failed to wow me as much as the necklace, they played a very important supportive role by not stealing the limelight and holding their own in the presence of a supernova.  Now, where’s my crown?

I tackled Tuesday’s video meeting in Avon’s Pearly Sparkle Teardrop Earrings and The Face Shop’s Rouge Powder Matte Lipstick in Beige Powder!

Guess what?!  I love another set of pearl earrings!  I know it’s not a newsflash, but these are all the things!  They are simple, classic, a little bit elegant, and take “basic” up a few steps!  Zero gripes–they are perfect little dangles!  The lipstick shade was also a huge winner!  While it’s named beige powder, it’s really just a light rose–I didn’t see any beige in the tube or on my lips.  This lipstick line is impressing me with its matte-ness.  A beautiful flat color on the lips that isn’t as thick as a regular lipstick, but provides just enough barrier that it keeps lips soft and moist.  This particular shade looks very natural on me and I ended up choosing it (rather than my Mattitude go-to shades) the rest of the work week!

On Friday, I shut down the work week in Avon’s Pop of Purple Halo Necklace and Earring Set!

Another royal look, this time the set sported the royal color!  Despite the fact that my photography skills suck and you can’t really tell in the photos, these pieces are a rich purple AND they sparkle their socks off!  It’s next to impossible to find any nit-picky thing about classic designs, but I did manage to find two things I wish were different about these pieces.  First, I wish they’d have used a chain that allowed cinching it up to be a true collar necklace or choker.  At the length it is, I didn’t feel like it was showcased nearly as well–my eye kept looking at the naked part of the chain that was peeking out from under my sweater, and I was sad about it.  Second, the earrings have a rounded back again.  I’ve discussed this several times before, but I really dislike earrings with a rounded back–they simply don’t sit on my lobes right.  It’s like they are drunk little things and end up drooping down, facing my shoulders instead of being the proud little buds of happiness they truly are.

Those are all of the past week’s selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!
