Kissed by a rose…Avon’s Rose Goldtone Crystal 3 Piece Set (the studs in the set are not pictured), that is. For those that missed it in a previous post, I’m not a big rose gold fan, but I’m trying to be…and this necklace sure helped! It’s a perfect length and size to make a small, tasteful statement when worn with just about anything. These hoops are a different matter altogether. I picked these over the studs to make more of a splash but, just like previous posts, because they are wide where they thread through my ear, they lay flat and stick out the sides of my head, rather than face forward like a proper hoop should. I think it looks ridiculous–like a cartoon character. Needless to say, the hoops didn’t make the cut, but the necklace has certainly made a couple of repeat performances!
Crystal teardrops…in Avon’s Goldtone Crystal 3-Piece Set (the studs are not pictured). This set is a beauty, featuring teardrop shaped pieces all blinged out. The necklace features a stunning large clear teardrop stone “floating” inside a clear stone encrusted teardrop outer ring. Again, the tasteful length is right up my alley and truly flattering on anyone. The dangle earrings match the outer ring of the necklace (the studs match the inner “floating” stone in the necklace) and really bop the light around well. Despite not being pictured, I have worn the studs as well and really dig all the pieces in this particular set.
Blue princesses unite…in Avon’s Sterling Silver Blue Princess Cut Necklace and Earrings! These pieces are so pretty! Light blue with a little zip to ’em, these princess cut blue stones feature an adorable clear stone at the top that is set to look like a triangle. Like every other sterling silver necklace. I still wish this would have come with a few more “shortening rings,” so I could bring the pendant up higher. While the length is okay, it still looks a bit long to me, considering how dainty the pendant is. The earrings are perfect and, for once, I wore them the same way the necklace’s pendant is positioned, instead of being a rule breaker and turning them a different direction.
Time for a little rendezvous with Avon’s True Color Matte Eyeshadow Quad in On the Vine and Rendez-Vous Gel Shadow & Liner in Fascinate! Last weekend I celebrated my 49th birthday with the family and decided to go all out with my look. This eyeshadow palette really provided the punch of color I needed for that wow factor, since I was wearing a solid black jumpsuit, black pumps, and those totally killer drop earrings from a few months ago. My eyes won best in show and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome! Pigment #3 and #4 in the quad built up beautifully, though they also needed to be touched up after 4-6 hours due to them losing their punch, and not uniformly. The gel shadow and liner was not my favorite. While it provided a little bit of sparkle without looking like a glitter bottle had been dropped on my eyelids, the consistency was terrible. It was difficult to get it applied to my lids evenly and with great depth. In the end, I covered up the jacked up bits with some dabs of #3 from the quad. Overall, I was beyond pleased with this look and really loved the quad’s shades!
Hello, 49…in Avon’s Sterling Silver Pear-Cut Necklace and Earrings! My actual birthday was a few days ago, and I opted to keep my look simple, so the pear-cut set totally fit the bill. Classy, unassuming, but offering up a glint here and there was just what I needed to kick this next circle around the sun off. As is common with Avon’s sterling silver pieces, these are very dainty, and the necklace chain is, in my opinion, a bit too long, but they truly are beautiful pieces. I think I’ve only ever disliked one piece in their sterling silver collections, and these two aren’t it. Generally speaking, these are not “special” in any way, but I love me some traditional “boring” pieces now and then.
Those are all of the past few weeks’ selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!

I love the sterling silver blue crystal set, I gravitate towards blue I don’t know why? You look totes awesome in that green gel eyeshadow, like Cate Blanchett in Thor Ragnarok’s, his sister Hella, total badass!
