Avon’s Metallic Mix Pendant Necklace has got something for everyone!
This necklace has practically everything but the kitchen sink! There’s a little bit of everything going on here: gold, red, charms, pearls – you name it! It’s a super long chain – the bottom of the pendant nearly hits my belly button, which is kind of insane. I used the shortest link on the back of the chain and looped it around my neck to have it hang where it does in the picture!
The pendant is fairly hefty but, because all the charms hang from their own mini chains, makes a bit of a racket when moving about. Aside from all of that, this thing is magnificent in person – so many compliments! It’s shiny, interesting and just plain different.
Tuesday I was getting into the Halloween spirit with Avon’s Sparkling Ice Statement Necklace and mark. Scene Stealer Earrings – black and ice!
The necklace is quite the piece! It absolutely demands to be the center of attention – throwing a little attitude into the mix. It can be cinched up tighter than I did for this look too, which puts it within spitting distance of being a choker! ::dazzled::
Pardon my language, but these earrings are BADASS! Sparkly, sexy with a little hard core thrown in for good measure – not my usual look, but sure fun to play with!
Practicality: They are amazingly light and the clip at the top isn’t as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. They are a little bit bulky, but not as bad as some of the others I’ve worn lately.
Footnote: Every time I caught my reflection at work, I was struck by how conservatively I was dressed, but my jewelry pieces seemed to scream obscenities. Quite the juxtaposition!
The Sparkling Spider Pin (no longer for sale) took up residence in my hair for Halloween – cute or creepy?
This pin is a terrific size and has a good weight to it – plus it’s beautiful, even if it IS in the shape of an icky spider! Too bad I only got one of these, otherwise it would have been super cute to pin a “trail” of them in my hair!
About that! Let me just say that putting brooches in your hair is TOUGH! Too much hair and it won’t close, too little and it wobbles all over the place. I had to pull back my hair to start over at least half a dozen times this morning after the little spider legs yanked bits of my hair out of the ponytail and made it look like a hot mess!
::rant over::
Different day, different vibe in the Guidance Guardian Angel Charm Necklace and Silvertone Convertible Drop Hoop Earrings!
The necklace is charm-ing! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!) Seriously, it’s beautiful. I have plans to test out its guidance powers when I jump into job search mode. I’ll report back whether the talisman is effective or not!
IMO, the hoops are a bit too dainty looking to properly support the drop pearl pieces – either the pearls should have been smaller or the hoops should have been bigger. Regardless, they are both pretty as separates. I doubt I’ll wear them together again, though.
And that closes out the past week of selfies! Which pieces were your favorite and how would you have styled them?
The Spider hairpin definitely cute, not creepy at all.
I have Tuesday’s earrings, or something very similar, with the necklace to match, but I am sure you’re not surprised at all. I bought it at Bebe a few years ago. Bebe used to be one of my favorite stores but alas they have closed down most of the physical stores in the Tri-state area.

I’m not familiar with Bebe – was it an accessories store or a department store?

It was a clothing store that also sold accessories. Maybe it was only on the East Coast then. A very trendy clothing store.

Ah, trendy – I tend to stay away from trendy stores. LOL

Several reasons, but basically I’m not drawn to trends in clothing. I tend to buy basic and classic pieces, then purchase a few trendy accessories to update my wardrobe.
