Hopelessly Heather

Just a few more hours in NYC before we fly back home—it’s been terrific! I’m wearing the hoops from Avon’s Pearly Earring Pack.

What I really like about these is the very modern way the mounted the hoop so it hangs statically like a stud earring, but is still very clearly a hoop.  The pearl placement also surprises–it’s mounted at the top center of the hoop, rather than swinging freely or being mounted at the bottom of the hoop to prove that gravity always wins.  Overall, it’s unique and creates visual interest–it’s purely unexpected.  It’s one of the best parts of fashion: showing off accessories that inspire interest, surprise, and delight.  This pair of earrings definitely hit their mark.

The past couple of days, I’ve been fighting very hard to fend off being sick. While I’m (so far) managing to not get 100% sick, I’ve got symptoms and am run down. So, today I opted for supreme comfort while still looking presentable in Avon’s Ava Mixed Media Dress that I accessorized with the amethyst drop earrings from their Purple Peace Stud Earring Trio!

This dress was exactly what the fashion doctor ordered: warm and comfy, while still managing to look somewhat put together–such a perfect autumn piece!  I actually sized up this piece to a medium.  I originally ordered a small, but the base sheath dress was so tights, I darn near dislocated a shoulder trying to get in to, and out of, it.  So I exchanged it.  The medium is a bit too big on me, particularly the grey top portion, but I don’t think it wandered out of its lane into “sloppy” territory.  What do you all think?

The earrings are genuine amethyst and super adorable! While definitely on the more dainty side for drop earrings, they are ladylike while also serving a higher purpose: supporting the fight on domestic violence–there are no losers in this scenario!

Celebrating this grey autumn day in Avon’s Sparkling Leaf Pendant Necklace!

Who doesn’t want to possess the quintessential symbol of autumn to wear in autumn?!  Though, to be fair, from a distance, this looks more like a bunch of directional arrows than a sideways turned leaf…so there’s that.  But, when you know it’s a leaf, and you love fall, it will win every time in this quasi-Rorschach test…and I couldn’t be happier that autumn has arrived!  The temps, the fashions, the calm before the holiday storm–I love it all!  And don’t think for a second that I won’t be wearing this piece like crazy this season!  It’s pretty, work-appropriate, and the season’s perfect representative symbol!
