Being a Queen

It’s been a loooong week since my last selfie—and all of it spent sick with the flu…but I’m baaa-aaack!! Hittin’ it up in Avon’s Hexagon Layered Necklace and Hexagon Drop Earrings in Peach!

I like the peach colored stones. And their hexagon shape. And the scale of both pieces. But that’s where the positives end for me–I’m simply not crazy about the necklace. Not only has Avon released several other similar-looking layered necklaces recently, but the longest layer’s chain looks kinked–and there’s no fixing it. As a result, it looks cheap to me. The earrings are better, though I was surprised to learn they are static–they don’t “dangle”. (That’s not a bad thing, just an observation.) I just don’t think I’ll wear them again. ::shrug::

Bit by little bit I’m working my way back to healthy—and nothing makes me feel more like “normal” me than new shiny things! Introducing Avon’s Pearly Baubles Necklace and Earring Set—very nice to meet you!

I love me some pearls and these are huge!! When I opened up the box, my eyes nearly popped out of my head–they are MAGNIFICENT! I wasn’t sure I’d be able to pull them off, but I sure hoped I could, and was positively delighted when they worked out! Pearls this large could have gone very wrong, but they didn’t, and now I’ve got another unique set of pearls added to my collection!

A month early, but already getting my Valentine’s Day volume turned up to 11 with Queen of Hearts Statement Necklace and Pave Heart Hoop Earrings!

This necklace rocks! It’s bad-ass, but with a cutesy theme, so it doesn’t fit neatly into either category–and mama likes! One sidenote: it’s weighty. The earrings are pretty glam, but aren’t traditional, despite having traditional design aspects. I really like the freewheeling heart on the hoop–such an interesting, and unusual, placement! Both of these are part of the Valentine’s Day limited-edition line, so I expect them to sell out and/or stop being sold altogether pretty quick, so if you want one, don’t dink around!
