Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

Last Saturday I visited the kittens with the hubs before picking up groceries and no kittens had any red lipstick on their fur because I was wearing Avon’s new 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo in Rebel Raspberry!

I’m really impressed with the lip tattoo! It truly doesn’t come off or fade after several hours of wear. It didn’t transfer any color when kissing on the hubs (or on the kittens).  It didn’t transfer any color when eating or drinking either.  I thought the rebel raspberry would be more berry than red, but it was very red on me. I actually liked it though!  Which was a good thing, because getting it off is a whole ‘nother story – I actually woke up the following morning with some of the shade present on my lips…and that was after trying to remove it with makeup remover the night before!

On Monday, I made some Avon deliveries before singing some karaoke with my bestie in new Avon’s 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo in Misunderstood Merlot!

I’m seriously digging this new product line! As I previously stated, the lip stain lasted a solid 7-8 hours without transfer or fading while eating and drinking, after that I think my lips started absorbing it and the fading began. By hour 10-ish, all traces of this shade were gone, but still an impressive showing! The shade itself is totally in my wheelhouse – a gorgeous reddish brick color. I am also in love with how rich and bold the shades are – I’m hoping the rest of the line follows suit! Stay tuned for those reviews!!

Friday evening was an impromptu outlet shopping sesh with the hubs in Avon’s Prosperous Elephant Necklace, Adorned Filigree Statement Earrings and 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo Lip Line & Fill Duo in Inked Rose!

Even though the necklace and earrings are from different collections, I think they complement each other amazingly! The necklace pendant is way bigger than I assumed it would be and I couldn’t be more delighted! Despite its size, it’s not weighty at all. The larger size allows others to see the great details on the elephant. Y’all already know I’m a big fan of long necklaces, so there’s no need to discuss the length of the chain.

The earrings are absolutely stunning! There are so many details, it’s difficult for the eye to rest on any one aspect. They are a bit hefty, which caused me to enlist my trusty heavy duty earring backers. I know I’ve talked about the miracle these things are, but they seriously are the best! Even though these are intended to be a in the boho vibe, I really think they give off an Indian flavor when work with other pieces that are traditionally Indian. Such flexibility!

This shade of the lip tattoo is a great mauve that would look great on everyone! Sadly, this shade doesn’t last as long as the raspberry or merlot shades – mine only lasted 4-5 hours before it started fading…and it faded fast. I’m sure that’s because there’s less intense pigment added to this one. Either way, it’s still a solid showing!

Those are all of the past week’s selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!

  1. Heather!! That 2-1 lip tattoo! I’m so in, ever since Avon stopped with their line, who’s name I can’t remember right now, but it was before the Beyond Color line, I’ve been looking for something like this! I’ve tried so many lip tattoo stains. But they all leave my lips feeling dry which I don’t like. Did they keep from getting dry? I hope so 🤞😎

    1. Avon Perfect Wear, that was the line that had the long lasting lip color I loved! Especially the chocolate, which was not chocolate or even brown but red on me. But loved it, then they changed it or discontinued it, ugh.

The Perfect Wear line was my absolute fave! I wore the chocolate too, which was a reddish brown on me…my go to shade!

        1. The Perfect Wear would last me all day long, even after eating lunch or drinking water all day. Women in my department use to ask what lipstick I used, oddly enough one was my Avon rep that sold my my merch, lol. She was a great Avon rep but she didn’t use makeup, I once told her it might be nice if she knew the product she was selling, lol.

LOL That’s hilarious! There are way too many products to be able to yse them all myself, but I do rely on my customers to provide honest feedback so I know the products from a user’s point of view. It’s an important part of being a rep, though it’s becoming less so now that we have the internet and you can check out online reviews yourself.

            1. I love that you review your merchandise, it gives you the reps perspective on the items you might buy. But this was way back in early 2002, everyone depended on the Avon book and samples of makeup to base our decisions on. I was sooo disappointed when the Perfect Wear line was dropped or changed, I haven’t found anything remotely close to it.

And I’m brutally honest. I don’t want a customer purchasing an item based on my review, only to find out it doesn’t work for them for the same reason it didn’t work for me.

I was sad too. They had the ExtraLasting line that came close, but they didn’t have the same shades. Wah, wah.

Yup! My lips weren’t dry at all, but you can layer a gloss or lip balm over the top of them if you want added moisture. I am LOVING this line!!

Avon definitely is trying to be hipper with their cosmetic names to appeal to a younger generation! 😁
