Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

The fam and I flew in the face of this social distancing thing on Sunday to fete my son’s and my mom’s birthdays by breaking bread together while supporting a local restaurant! The menu included Avon’s Striped 3/4 Lace Front Top, Sterling Silver Floral Front to Back Earrings, and Glimmerkiss Liquid Lipstick in Sand Opal!

I sized up to a medium and absolutely love the relaxed fit of this top! Long enough to act as a tunic, it covers all my problem spots AND it doesn’t cling. I’m also a fan of the classic black and white striped pattern–it never goes out of style. Worth every penny!

Close up, I actually like the slightly metallic/frosted look of this lip shade–it screams spring! Further away, this shade makes my lips look freaky. I will likely only wear this in the future on top of a bolder base color. The earrings are super fun! I really dig jewelry pieces that are different/novel. The stud post can be worn alone or as a front to the back piece that hangs beneath the lobe–so interesting!!

Took a walk in the sunshine with the hubs and it was glorious in Avon’s Everyday Coverup in Black, Instant Glamour Long Lariat, and Pave Fanned Earrings!

I have always been a huge fan of these open-waterfall-front cardigans!  They are so perfect to wear over a shell, tank, or tee and can be casual or office-appropriate.  This one is no exception.  The only gripe I have is that the arms are long enough for someone who is 20 feet tall, which (sadly, I am not.  I simply cuffed the arms and they stayed put all day long.  This is a medium weight cardi and well-suited to springtime–or summertime in an over-A/Cd office!  The waterfall front can also be flapped over your chest for added warmth, should you require it.  If only it came in a rainbow of colors–I’d buy them all!

My struggle with Y necklaces hanging properly continues!  Again, this one’s ends hang a bit low for my taste (it draws the eye to my tummy area, which I am not comfy with), but it sure is pretty!  The earrings are terrific!  They act like a quasi-hoop by tucking under the lobe (they kind of look like super fancy curved fork tines) and I couldn’t have been more delighted!  They seriously look ultra luxe in person!

Working from home means not “doing” my hair, but I still don’t skimp on the baubles! Today I featured Avon’s Sterling Silver Dainty CZ Accented Necklace and CZ Hoop Earrings!

Dainty is right!  Both the necklace and the earrings are sweet little pieces.  I wish the necklace had the ability to be cinched up more, but the chain hangs where it hangs–there’s only one loop to hook into.  I really think its beauty would shine better a little higher up on the collar bone.  I struggled to get the posts of the hoop earrings through my fat lobes because they don’t open up very wide and are “loose” in the hinge, so they constantly wiggled until I got them through and popped them into their back slots.  Despite that minor frustration, I found these to be exceedingly elegant!  While they aren’t large, they still announce their presence well.  ::swoon::

Those are all of the past week’s selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!
