Virtual #AvonConvention 2021 be like…fmg Glimmer Eyeshadow Quad in Idol! Y’all know I’m a sucker for quads–collections of shades that are curated to all work with each other to deliver a complete eye look. In other words, they take the hard work out of makeup looks so those of us who are not as gifted at staring down a mega collection and picking out a few shades that will look great together–I like it when things are made easier for me. This specific quad comes with both matte and shimmer shades in hues that are more subdued for an everyday look. Don’t get me wrong–these shades can be built up to be much more dramatic in intensity, but they can also be applied lightly for more casual and professional looks. The shimmer shades aren’t overly shimmery to bring attention to fine lines and wrinkles, but offer enough of a glimmer to bring dimension to your look. While this wasn’t my most “fun” eye look, it still ticked all the boxes for the look I was trying to achieve. For those keeping score, that means these quads are still batting a thousand.
I’m no sculptor, but…in Avon’s Sculptural Pendant Necklace and Hoop Earrings, it sure feel like I’ve been touched by one! Simple and “clean” with a modern twist (pardon the pun), these pieces are great alone or grouped with other pieces, in casual or dressy settings. Versatile jewelry pieces are mandatory for every collection, so I snatched these up in both silvertone and goldtone, anticipating that they would be what they are. It’s an added bonus that they are extremely shiny and sure to cause more than one double-take.
Enjoying the last gasps of summer…in Avon’s Grey Mother Of Pearl Pendant Necklace and Drop Earrings! Let me point out the obvious right off the bat–these pieces are stunning!! Their grey hue makes all of the underlying opalescence of the mother of pearl pop out, giving them a quasi-abalone look…and it’s glorious! The necklace comes with a very long chain that I looped around my neck to shorten it and bring the (fairly large, but very lightweight) pendant closer to my face so it wouldn’t get “lost” hanging at a lower level. The drop earrings dangle so beautifully in person, shimmering with a variety of colors at every angle with the slightest breeze or tip of the head. I have one tiny OCD complaint: the tiny hole drilled into the top of the pendant for the necklace is not centered–it’s not noticeable at all from a distance, but it sure was a pain in my butt when I was trying to get the close up shots. Ugh. Aside from that super tiny misstep, these pieces are absolutely amazing!
Now, where’s that beach at?! Lemme at ‘im with Avon’s Beach Chic Pendant Necklace in Blue (sold out) and the oblong hoops from their Modern Two-Tone Earring Pack! The chain on this necklace is ridiculously long–I was able to wrap it around my neck TWICE to get the pendant to hang on my bared décolletage! The beads and lower pendant are vibrantly colored, which provide terrific pops of color that evoke feelings of a tropical island. While I absolutely love the filigree pendant that lays on top, I wasn’t a big fan that they move independently of each other. The bottom turquoise pendant is shaped in a way, and is made of a material, that almost suctions to flat, bare skin. Since it’s also slick, the filigree layer didn’t “stay put” on top. Instead, it swung back and forth all day long like a grandfather clock’s pendulum. I have half a mind to break out my hot glue gun to permanently adhere the two layers together moving forward. The hoops remind me of a link from the chain locks I used as a kid to lock up my bikes, though certainly a bit less heavy duty. I rather like them, actually. Their simplicity was perfect against the explosion of color happening with the necklace.
Those are all of the past few weeks’ selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!

You know I love me some Avon jewelry, and those pieces are just gorgeous!! I wish I could wear eyeshadow again, but no matter what I do or how I try, even with primer, in an hour it creases…ugh. But you look absolutely amazing in the shadow quad!
