Last Saturday was date night at a (new to us) French bistro with the hubs in Avon’s Adorned Filigree Statement Necklace, the elephant studs from their Prosperous Elephant Earring Pack and 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo Lip Line & Fill Duo in Renegade Ruby!
I love the look and idea of the necklace but, in practice, I had some issues with it. Because the pendants are so large, they are also heavy, which caused them to be victims of gravity and lay all wonky. Since they laid in a cockeyed fashion, they messed up how the beads should have laid and also how the chain supporting all three pendants laid. These things drove my OCD crazy. I tried to get them to lay correctly for the pics, but it was a losing battle. ::huff::
The earrings are darling! They are all studs in the pack, so individually they don’t pack much punch size-wise, which suited me fine with the larger necklace I wore. I again mixed up the jewelry collections because I loved these two together before – they really do look like they belong with each other! I realized after the fact that I didn’t get terribly great shots of the earrings – my bad!
The ruby lip tattoo is a gorgeous red shade! I wasn’t sure how well I’d like it, but I really loved the color! Unfortunately, I ate a lot of messy French sauces with dinner and drank coke, all of which took a toll on how long the shade lasted before fading. My lips were a hot pink shade, rather than the ruby red, by the time we made it home from dinner about 4-1/2 hours after its application. I suspect if I’d gone easier on my lips, the color would have lasted longer, though I’m not convinced it will last as long as the merlot or raspberry – both of those have deeper pigments in them and I think they stick around longer as a result.
On Monday I just putzed around the house and ran local errands in Avon’s Pink Criss Cross Tee, Boho Chic Earrings and 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo in Gnarly Nude!
This tee is of a heavier weighted material, as opposed to those flimsy paper-thin see-through things people call tees nowadays, and a lovely shade of pink with an adorable criss-cross detail at the neckline. The material is a bit too heavy for my taste as I tend to only wear tees in the summer and this one is so thick, it will only make me sweat more. ::boo, hiss:: The length of the tee is really long – for it to hit me in the right spot, I will need to take up the hem a few inches.
These earrings are super sparkly! They are dainty for a drop earring too, so all you statement earring haters out there should add a pair of these to your collection!
The gnarly nude lip tattoo went on very orange making it look coral when it was first applied. Luckily, I take my selfies 30-60 minutes after application and the orange had some time to chill out. Because it’s such a light shade, this one only lasted 3-4 hours on me before I couldn’t see any of it on my lips any more.
Tuesday was the big Avon order (and book) delivery day that ended in a massage! To get through the day, I wore the hoops from Avon’s Desert Days Hoop Earring Pack and 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo Lip Line & Fill Duo in Pinup Plum!
I love the Native American flavor of these hoops – the pattern and style are so pretty!! They are a medium weight, so you’ll definitely notice them throughout the day, but they aren’t so heavy to be obnoxious or painful in the least.
The plum lip tattoo went on more of a deep berry – it’s a truly gorgeous shade and it isn’t shy! It certainly commands all the attention, as it should. A fellow Avon rep once told me that when she wears lipstick, she feels like her lips arrive in a room long before the rest of her does. I laughed when she told me that, but now I totally get it – this shade stayed put for hours and I definitely felt like my lips were tricked out to be oohed and aahed over. In the future, I’ll bust this shade out for date night instead of running errands around town!
On Wednesday, I hit up the local casino with my mom in Avon’s Boho Chic Pendant Necklace and the CZ studs from their Prosperous Elephant Earring Pack!
The multicolored beads on the gold chain is super fun; however, I felt like the pendant didn’t really go with the overall theme of the necklace’s chain. The pendant is very sparkly, dainty and pretty (just like the matching earrings), but they feel like two different necklaces that have been turned into a freakish new hybrid. Doesn’t it look like two other necklaces mated and this is their weird lookin’ kid? I mean, I like the two ideas – just not the two ideas together…and the only part of this necklace that looks boho to me is the multicolored beaded chain. Or maybe I’m just totally out of the loop on what boho looks like these days?
On the other hand, the earring studs are impossible to find fault with – they are classic in size and style…WINNING!
Those are all of the past week’s selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!

Thanks! What did she think? They are pretty deeply pigmented, so if she prefers lighter shades, the nude and rose would be my suggestions to try.
