Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

I attended my daughter’s 28th birthday brunch last Saturday in Avon’s Spring Shimmer Earrings!

While these look just fine from a distance, I am not the world’s biggest fan of the heavily faceted plastic beads/stones that are used in jewelry settings–they look cheap and obviously fake.  These are heavily faceted.  ::sigh::  Luckily, they don’t cover a lot of surface area, so you really do have to get super close to see them in detail.  Thus, folks seeing them on me at a usual distance won’t know the difference and they won’t appear so cheap.

Monday I delivered a ton of orders on my bonus day off in Avon’s “I Am” Inspirational Necklace and one pair of studs (out of 21!!!) from the Everyday Glam Stud Earring Mega Pack!
The necklace is in Avon’s Pink Hope line. A percentage of purchases of products from that line are donated to American Cancer Society to help fight breast cancer. That alone always makes me happy to support the line, but lately they’ve been knocking it out of the park with their gorgeous jewelry pieces–and this one didn’t disappoint either! Empowerment is popular nowadays, so this fits right in with that trend too. Genuine, inspirational, kind, beautiful, worthy, unique, and confident–all words we all are (or should be) described as at some point in our lives–even better if they are all at once! This would make a terrific gift for the women in your life–showering them with love, compliments, and affirmation all in one go.
The earrings have a retro feel to them, and are super sparkly–a terrific pair with the necklace because of the starburst on the charm. Also, can we talk about this mega pack of earrings?! What a great set!!! I don’t think there is a single pair I won’t wear–most all of them are classic, and they mixed goldtone and silvertone pairs to suit all tastes. It would be an amazing “starter kit” for a young girl just getting her ears pierced for the first time. Even the largest pairs are still dainty enough for young uns to wear!

I missed posting last week because there was only one selfie taken.  Avon has been sparse in their new jewelry/clothing offerings, and I suck at regularly trying new makeup or skin care products, instead preferring to stick with my tried and true solutions.  But fear not my devoted readers, I received a ton of new jewelry pieces this past week for the next campaign that kicks off next week, so I will hopefully be back on track with my one per week posts!

Two Mondays ago, I showed off Avon’s Genuine Rose Quartz Layered Necklace and Earrings a day early, because they were so gorgeous! PLUS portions of sales from the line are donated to support the fight on breast cancer!

Rose quartz is such a beautiful light pink that it’s not in-your-face girly, but still oozes femininity.  Form it into a vague and small-ish heart shape, slap some gold around it, and you’ve got a gorgeous and delicate set that still pays homage to its natural stone state.  As a result, the pieces were smaller than I had anticipated, but that actually made me happy, as I had worried about the weight of the earrings should they have been medium or large.  The layers of the necklace featured freewheeling pendants, so they mostly hung properly throughout the day, though the top layer was incredibly lightweight and kept sticking to my oily skin–which is purely a “me” problem and not a reason I’d actively dissuade someone from purchasing the pieces because of.  How can you not love beautiful pieces that also benefit the fight on breast cancer?!

I brought lots of love and hearts into Monday with Avon’s Ombre Pave Heart Necklace and Earring Set!  Sadly, this set is already sold out.  ::womp, womp::

The various colored stones in the hearts made them interesting to look at and made them stand out despite their smaller size overall.  Surprisingly, the heart pendant moved about on the chain freely as I’d anticipated it to be static.  The shorter chain also appealed to me.  This set definitely could be worn by the youngster crowd.  Now if only they were still in stock…

I had Monday off, so I gallivanted around town to drop off customer orders in Avon’s Pearly Hoop Earrings!

These are so much prettier in person–and incredibly lightweight!  I dig the fresh take on hoops manufactured out of a string of pearls, or the fresh take on pearls by stringing them into hoops…however you want to look at it.  ::wink::  If you’re one of my longtime blog followers, you already know that I rarely meet pearls I don’t like, and this was no rarity!  Beauty, beauty, beauty!
