The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

Holiday open houses are popular with both vendors and customers alike.  Customers love being able to physically experience vendor products, interact with the vendor and snatch up deals.  Vendors love customers coming to them for interaction and selling some of their extra inventory.  For an even more successful event, invite a few other vendors, provide some snacks, give away some door prizes and promote the event relentlessly.

Are you thinking about joining a direct sales company, but you are nervous, unsure or not ready?  Perhaps you are already on a direct sales team and have someone who is nervous, unsure or not ready?  There are a couple of ways nervous Nellies can test the waters without putting forth money or too much effort.  This post will be specific to joining Avon, but if you are interested in another direct sales company, you can revise the ideas below as needed:

Everyone loves getting bonuses and perks with their jobs!  Just because Avon is a a side hustle for me doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy achieving incentives to win prizes and getting swag bags at events!  Luckily, Avon is incredibly generous and I’ve gotten loads of prizes and freebies over the years.  The slideshow above only shows a portion of the goodies I’ve received over the past 3 years.  (Prior to that I failed to capture and post photos.  Sorry, my bad.)

A former Avon lady returns to the fold with a bang! After being one of my top customers for the past several years, Melinda MacFall rejoined Avon in mid-July during the Share the Love Incentive and has been showing everyone how it’s done ever since!  She just completed the Kickstart Incentive, netting herself loads of freebies, prizes and nearly $1,300 in commissions! She is taking over the Avon market in Suisun City, CA, is a high school friend of mine and is an amazing addition to the team!  Read on to find out more about her!

Every year on Halloween our house receives between 200-300 trick-or-treaters. Last year I tried something new and I’m doing it again this year – handing out bombitas! If you are unfamiliar with what a bombita is, it’s simply a goody bag.
