Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

Love chokers and the trendy layered look? Done and done in Avon’s Amazonite Power Stone Layered Necklace!

Another dainty layered choker–this time in silver with an aqua colored stone pendant!  ‘m thrilled that Avon is providing additional styles of chokers, rather than the typical black velvet ribbon with a pendant on it…though I love those too.  I love having options: colors, styles, metals, single strand or layers–they all make me happy to have on hand so I can better accessorize my outfits the way I’d like to, as opposed to being forced into a style box.

I wore Avon’s Sterling Silver CZ Cluster Necklace and Earrings yesterday to work—respectable, traditional, dainty.  Done!

The necklace and earrings are sold separately and the necklace is, unfortunately, sold out–both are blingy and beautiful, but also very dainty.  If you are looking for larger, bulkier pieces, these will not fit that bill.  However, if you are looking for nice, tasteful pieces that are appropriately sized for a younger girl, look no further!  While I would have preferred at least the necklace to be a little more substantial, I can’t complain about the quality or beauty–Avon’s sterling silver pieces are always top notch!

I wore one of Avon’s Pave Star Necklaces a couple of weeks ago (see original review) and suggested layering them for a different look—so I took my own advice on Saturday!!

I’m a little glam, and a little retro in Avon’s Red Deco Necklace and Earring Set is topped off with their super cute vintage-inspired Iconic Lipstick in Wild Rose!

This jewelry set hearkens back to the 50s and 60s–an era where even housewives dressed up for the day and were always presentable should a neighbor, friend, or family member drop in unexpectedly.  It’s one of my favorite fashion eras, and this set is seriously on point.  It’s traditional, so it will never go out of style.  The pendant and earrings are a solid medium size, so they don’t disappear in the presence of any outfit, no matter how bold.  The red is warm, so completely appropriate for the autumn and upcoming holiday season.  I did use my magic earring backers to make sure the studs didn’t flop forward on my lobes, but they aren’t particularly heavy–just bigger than usual.

I’ve always geeked out over Avon’s Iconic line–they always include vintage-inspired items from Avon’s earlier product lines, many from the 50s and 60s…my sweet spot!  You can check out my earlier posts featuring some of these items here and here.  This holiday season’s line does not disappoint–stay tuned for lots more of it to be featured in future blog posts!  This particular lipstick comes packaged in an adorable box with a classic Avon image and the lipstick case itself is a collectible in its super cute retro plaid!  The lipstick itself is deliciously moisturizing, which is badly needed in the winter.  The shade is a brighter version of rose than I normally gravitate towards, but it stops well short of being a true “bright” and turning towards the neon look I tend to avoid.  All in all, this one is a win in every category!

Monday I was feeling a little bit holiday, and a little bit retro in Avon’s Flat Velvet Lipstick in Rose Pink and their very vintage-y Iconic Bow Necklace and Earring Set!
