Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

On Monday, I soaked up some rays during my lunchtime walk outdoors in Avon’s Tonal Spring Sweater, Adjustable Feather Pendant Necklace and the flower studs from their Bee and Flower Stud Earring Pack!

This sweater is a perfect weight for springtime!  A cami is a must and could really be interesting in different colors, but I remained boring (mostly to show off the sweater itself) and stuck with a white cami underneath.  I freaking love the button detail on the wrist cuffs, and I’m a huge fan of the scooped bottom edge of the sweater to assist with visual slimming!  Only one small annoyance: the tag calls for dry cleaning.  And I’ll be ignoring that.  It’s 100% cotton, so I plan on washing it in cold water and laying it flat to dry–you know, like every other sweater I own!

The feather necklace is on that same type of luxurious adjustable chain that I described here.  I am over the moon that Avon seems to be on board with creating more necklaces with this style of chain…it’s quickly becoming my second favorite–right behind chokers, of course!  The feather pendant is no slouch either!  Boasting an articulated skeleton, the joints move around, but aren’t floppy–making it meld to whatever curves are (or aren’t) there.  Plus, it sparkles!

The two pair of stud earrings are so stinkin’ cute–if I only had two holes in my ears, I’d wear them together!  But, alas, I do not…because I’m traditional, yo!  So, for this particular outfit, I chose the more sparkly ones so they wouldn’t be lost in the leaf parade.  I really think it worked out a bit better than anticipated because the earrings shine bright in my sweater pics and the leaf pendant seems to fade away a bit.

All said, this outfit (jewelry and all) will be making repeat performances in the coming weeks–all winners!

Tuesday was a busy, out-of-the-house day with work in the office, deliveries, and a visit with mom—all accomplished in Avon’s Blue 3/4 Lace Front Top and Blue Sparkling Color Drop Earrings!

I loved the striped version of the top so much, I got the blue version too!  Same review as the striped version, so I won’t reiterate it here.  The earrings worked surprisingly well with the top.  I thought they might have been a little larger, but am relieved they were not.  In addition, while in the same color category, they weren’t all matchy-matchy, so provided some interest.  Super light weight, easy on the lobes, and picks up light incredibly well.  Both of these will be in heavy rotation the next several weeks as well!

Friday I closed out the work week and got the weekend started in the Remarkable shade from Avon’s Limited-Edition Give ’em Tude Mattitude Gift Set!

While I saw the Mattitude set in the Mother’s Day limited-edition lineup, I hadn’t purchased it until Alicia (of word of alicia blogger fame) pointed out that the shades in the set were ALSO limited edition, so I scrambled to snag a set before they disappeared as I’ve been a huge fan of the Mattitude line.  This coral shade went on a bit neon, so I put my own tip to the test (how to make any lipstick shade work for you) and was not in the least bit disappointed with the results!  While still maintaining a bit of the coral tone to the finished result, it also turned more of a pinky-peach, which is what I’d hoped for!  A beautiful shade against yellow-hued skin! Plus, this line’s lip paint last longer than typical lipstick–always a plus!

Those are all of the past week’s selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!
