Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

I’m kicking off this blog post with an apology:  I apologize for missing last Saturday’s selfie blog post.  I did have the first two selfies done before last Saturday’s selfie blog post was due, but I didn’t feel like it was “meaty” enough, so I opted to hold off a week and collect at least a couple more selfies to add to the post, which I did.  For those who missed seeing my face on the blog last week, you do know I have other social media, right?  ::wink::

Two Saturdays ago, I did my hair, taxes, and grocery shopping, while sporting the dragonfly studs from Avon’s Good Vibes Earring Pack!

Yes, I know I’ve already reviewed a couple of other pair of earrings (including my most favorite) from this collection, but, but, but…(1) I’ve only purchased a couple of new jewelry pieces in the past month (more new ones should arrive next week–eeee!!), so y’all are getting to see most of this collection’s offerings; and (2) I did it for all of you–I know how much you love seeing my face!  ::snort::

That said, the dragonflies are super cute, but they don’t have much detail up close, and are so small that you can’t really tell what they are from a distance.  In other words, they are typical studs.  I like dragonflies okay, but I wouldn’t have purchased these on their own–good thing they were part of a bigger collection!

Two Mondays ago, I kicked off the work week with a couple of video meetings in Avon’s Seven Days a Week Charm Necklace and the mini pearl studs from their Good Vibes Earring Pack!

The necklace comes packaged with seven pendant “charms,” most of which aren’t anything I consider “special,” but I got it for this pearl charm and the turquoise charm.  This charm ended up being a lot smaller than I though it would be, which was a small disappointment, but I still really dig the design.  Most oval-shaped pendants are worn lengthwise, so I was drawn to this “sideways” design.  Despite the fact that it makes less of a statement with its smaller stature, honestly, I’ll probably wear it a lot more often, because I tend to fill in the majority of my week with smaller pieces.  So, an accidental win!

The studs are nothing special, just typical white pearl ball studs.  I’d normally elaborate here, but there’s really no need–you’ve got eyes.

A ninety+ degree Monday meant less clothing and lighter makeup—Avon’s Birthday Balm Lip Crayon in Fine Wine helped fill the bill!

I’ve previously reviewed the formula of the lip crayons, so I won’t be a broken record.  I finally decided to try a different shade than my previous favorite and I think I love this one even more!  Don’t you love it when you don’t think you can be any more impressed by something, then find out you actually can?!  This shade and the formula together slapped me right back into my teenage years when I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup, but I could wear tinted lip balm–so I chose the wine shade of Avon’s Slick Tint line (I literally wore that same shade of tinted lip balm for years).  This is darn near a dead ringer all around, except the container it’s in and it’s name are both different.  My 12-year-old self bubbled up inside and let out a little cheer!

This past Tuesday was terrific in the pink glass studs from Avon’s Good Vibes Earring Pack!

The pink of these studs is a bit more rich than I imagined they’d be, and I was glad for it.  So, a win on the color.  However, the back of the studs that the post attaches to is thick, almost like a fat sleeve fitting around the post.  In order to get the earring to lay flat against my ear, I had to shove the fat portion through my ear.  Yes, I had visions of gauged ear holes and I might have shuddered a little.  I was relieved to find my piercings to still be a normal size after I took them out, but I won’t be testing my luck by wearing them again.  Ain’t nobody needs that kind of stress.

I flung on the starburst studs from Avon’s Good Vibes Earring Pack to finish my work week yesterday!

These earrings look way better on that in the package!  How cute are they?!  Don’t worry, I’ll wait while you scroll down to admire the photo first.  ::whistling a happy little tune::  Okay, you’re back now?  All good things this time around.  A normal post going through my ear so I don’t fear an unintentional body modification–check.  The stud lays flat against my lobe–check.  The design is interesting–check.  There’s (at least) a little sparkle–check.   All my boxes got ticked.  In addition, the design is semi-retro, and y’all know I love me some retro styles!

Those are all of the past week’s selfies! What was your favorite and how would you have worn it?!

  1. I do like that Seven Days A Week charm necklace, and the little studs too. Is the Birthday Lip Balm lip long lasting? It sure looks like something I’d like to try out. Oh, I got my package yesterday, and I must say, the Peony perfume is so awesome! Light, subtle and a little goes a long way. I’ve always loved SSS body oil. The only thing I haven’t tried is the eyeshadow but I will soon, thanks again!

The birthday balm lasts as long as most other lip balms do, so depending on what you’re doing, yes and no. 🤣

Excellent! I’m glad you’re enjoying all your goodies! 🥰

  2. Is it just me or is there a big empty spot in the middle of your post?
Also, I wanted to tell you that the mosquito spray has passed every test so far. Very happy.

      1. The lipstick paragraph was missing. It was weird. All good now.
