Tuesday started out promising in Avon’s Grey Crackle CZ Necklace and Earring Set!

This set features very pretty (and super dainty) smoky grey (which is way too fitting for how this week has gone with all the wildfires around us, by the way…) teardrop-shaped CZ stones. They are a medium grey, so it’s obvious what color they are, but they still retain much of their transparency. The necklace also features a tiny clear round-shaped CZ stone at the top tip of the upturned teardrop. While the stones in the set ended up being much smaller than I’d thought they’d be, their design is a timeless classic that never goes out of style–they will never be showstoppers, but they weren’t meant to be. One gripe (and I’m getting pretty irritated that this seems to be becoming more and more prevalent): the back of the necklaces pendant is rounded. And not even a little. It’s almost like they build the back the shape they did so it would assist the facets of the CZ to sparkle more. Well, okay, but if it doesn’t ever lay facing the front, it doesn’t really matter how much it sparkles, because nobody will notice it laying on its side, unless they are pointing out that it’s not laying properly. I really hope this isn’t becoming a new normal. 2020 has already been crappy enough without all the new jewelry pieces coming out with rounded backs too. Just make it stop already!

I got through all of last Monday’s challenges in the studs from Avon’s Western Wing Earring Duo!

I previously reviewed the other pair of earrings in this duo and loved how they looked, but found them a little on the heavy side; however, these not only weren’t heavy, but they were a surprise winner–and this is exactly why I post selfies of me wearing the pieces (and follow up with my written review, so you don’t just base your opinion on a single photo).

Last Saturday was date night at the hubs’ favorite restaurant, which called for Avon’s Look of Sapphire Necklace and Earring Set!

Lookie, lookie, LOOKIE!!!! Where are my heart eye emojis when I really need them?! This set is friggin’ gorgeous! Sure, the design is traditional, but it also never goes out of style and is elegant. And, ZOMG, just look at that vibrant blue!! If I could marry this set, I’d do it in a heartbeat!

Making Statements

Monday was my last day of staycation, but I also had to attend a video meeting for work, so I slapped on Avon’s Western Wind Statement Earrings for the wow factor!

I wasn’t overly excited about these based on the pic in the brochure, but when I cracked open the box, my eyes nearly fell out of my head. These things are amazeballs!! First things first, they are a medium to heavy weight, so I broke out my magic earring backers to help prop up these beauties as they ought to be supported. Now that the business out of the way, I’m going to gush about these a little more! I was concerned wearing these would look out of place with anything other than a cowboy hat, but I was dead wrong. While they definitely have a western flair to them, they more than hold their own when paired with trendy fashion. Despite being fairly sizable, they don’t overpower any look–mostly because they have a burnished finish. I never imagined I would be putting these babies in my “must wear again” jewelry box, but they definitely earned their place among my other faves!

Staycationing this week meant a nice, slow start to my weekdays! Monday was grocery shopping and running errands day, which isn’t sexy stuff, but was definitely made sexier in Avon’s Sterling Silver Everyday Necklace and the medium studs from their Sparkling Scroll Earring Set!

When there are multiple charms on a necklace, the smaller charm should not be behind the larger charm. What on earth were they thinking?! [insert exasperated eye roll here] That’s just a serious design flaw–and ruined this necklace completely for me. On the flip side, the earrings were a lovely surprise! I thought the earring set was pretty enough, but didn’t really expect much out of it, but the larger earrings are very nicely sized and the medium set (which I thought I’d hate due to the shape) ended up being the first ones I wore! They certainly brought the sparkle the necklace lacked, but weren’t so sparkly that they looked mismatched with a casual tee.
