Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

A little bit holiday, a little bit vintage Avon’s Josephine Ponte Dress would be a classy addition to any wardrobe!

The fabric of this dress is, well, fab! It’s thicker than a jersey fabric, but wears similarly, so it’s a bit stretchy and, because of its thicker weight, pretty forgiving. The classic A line cut works on all shapes and sizes, the arms are cut a bit wider than they have been in Avon fashions lately (thank you to the Avon fashion gods!!) and the length falls just below my knee (I’m a whopping 5’1″). The red is on the bluer side – which should help you decide whether or not it will work with your skin tone. While it’s not an ideal shade of red for my yellowish skin, the black elements definitely helped!

Had I designed this dress, I would have changed only one thing: the neckline. I’m not crazy about a v-neck with this dress. Had their been a faux button down or collar detail, I think it would have worked better but, as is, it’s the one thing that looks out of place to me. A fairly formal looking dress with an informal v-neck. ::wince::

Clearly, the hubs isn’t nit picky since he only said “Wow!” when he saw me. 😉

A couple of weeks ago I talked Alicia into answering a bunch of my questions for an interview/guest post – as per usual, she didn’t disappoint!

First, a little bit about Alicia:

She is a fellow Avon rep, a powerhouse social media marketer and the blogger behind Word of Alicia,  Her stunning fashion photos and product displays are always inspiring.  She always has kind words to offer and isn’t shy to offer fashion advice when asked (she’s the one who gave me the styling idea for the photo that won me the entire Fall for Paris jewelry collection).  Smart, sweet and beautiful, this girl has it all!

Monday’s look featured Avon’s Mila Dress, Hematite Contemporary Beads Necklace (and Earring Set) and Café Chic Drop Earrings – classy, elegant and the perfect weight dress for an early autumn day!
