Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

Monday I worked, delivered, and sang like a boss in the Respect shade from Avon’s Limited-Edition Give ’em Tude Mattitude Gift Set (no longer available), their Adjustable Horn Pendant Necklace, and their Sterling Silver Classic CZ Solitaire Earrings!

I found that, throughout the day, I was holding and rubbing the horn pendant on the necklace like a genie’s bottle.  I’m sure that means something, but I’m not ready to unpack it.  So, instead, I’ll focus on its chain (my favorite new “style” again) and the vibrancy of its color (SO BLUE!).  The earrings were in heavy rotation this week as they go with everything and aren’t fussy–default pieces aren’t generally fun to review, but they are mandatory for every collection!

On Monday, I soaked up some rays during my lunchtime walk outdoors in Avon’s Tonal Spring Sweater, Adjustable Feather Pendant Necklace and the flower studs from their Bee and Flower Stud Earring Pack!

This sweater is a perfect weight for springtime!  A cami is a must and could really be interesting in different colors, but I remained boring (mostly to show off the sweater itself) and stuck with a white cami underneath.  I freaking love the button detail on the wrist cuffs, and I’m a huge fan of the scooped bottom edge of the sweater to assist with visual slimming!  Only one small annoyance: the tag calls for dry cleaning.  And I’ll be ignoring that.  It’s 100% cotton, so I plan on washing it in cold water and laying it flat to dry–you know, like every other sweater I own!

The feather necklace is on that same type of luxurious adjustable chain that I described here.  I am over the moon that Avon seems to be on board with creating more necklaces with this style of chain…it’s quickly becoming my second favorite–right behind chokers, of course!  The feather pendant is no slouch either!  Boasting an articulated skeleton, the joints move around, but aren’t floppy–making it meld to whatever curves are (or aren’t) there.  Plus, it sparkles!

The two pair of stud earrings are so stinkin’ cute–if I only had two holes in my ears, I’d wear them together!  But, alas, I do not…because I’m traditional, yo!  So, for this particular outfit, I chose the more sparkly ones so they wouldn’t be lost in the leaf parade.  I really think it worked out a bit better than anticipated because the earrings shine bright in my sweater pics and the leaf pendant seems to fade away a bit.

All said, this outfit (jewelry and all) will be making repeat performances in the coming weeks–all winners!

Another contactless Avon delivery day featuring Avon’s Genuine Stone Modern Lucky Charm Necklace and Pave Petite Hoop Earrings!

The necklace (in the same line as the previously reviewed Loved version) is another winner–I only wish the beaded charm was green instead of purple, though it’s definitely not a deal breaker.  The earrings are fat.  There’s no getting around it.  I’ve previously expressed my aversion to thicker hoops, and these fell into the same bucket–I just don’t like them on me.  Bah, humbug.

No video meetings were scheduled for Tuesday, but I prettied up just in case in Avon’s Instant Glamour Statement Earrings and Glimmer Kiss Liquid Lipstick in Ruby!

I wasn’t too sure about the earrings when I unboxed them–they are a bit heavy and very long, but then I put them on…and KABOOM!  They are super glam, and so special that I didn’t wear any other adornment except a bold red lip!  The ruby color of the lipstick is a bit too pink for me, but it didn’t turn too terribly pink, so it ended up being just okay.  I also only put on one layer, so you can’t really see the glitter/glimmer effect as well in photos, but you sure could see it in person when I was in the right light!

Customers still need their Avon, so on Monday I delivered CONTACTLESS, but still looked fly in Avon’s Modern Pink Y Necklace and Earring Set!

This Y necklace has a solid weight to it, so it stayed in place a whole lot better than lighter ones have–YAY!  The earrings are a light/medium weight, so they don’t drag on the lobe, but they don’t fly free in the wind either–perfect!

I love that the stones are shaped different and aren’t perfect–it definitely makes them appear more natural.  Some folks like the see-through stones, and I would, if only I didn’t have a yellow-ish skin tone–it always skews the stone’s color.  In this case, the pink tried to hold on a bit instead of turning peach, though it does lose the battle in certain lighting.  That is purely a me issue though, which could be remedied by wearing clothing that would back it up rather than letting it rest directly on my skin.
