Hopelessly Heather

The ramblings and obsessions of a longtime Avon lady

The hubs and I had dinner with my blogging bestie Racquel in NYC which called for Avon’s Scarlett Velvet Dress adorned with the Iconic Pearly Wreath Pin clipped to the side (thanks for the idea, mom)!

This dress is so up my alley – the color, the cut, the style…it’s all me! Except my mom gets all the credit for placement of the wreath pin – genius!

Good bits: The dress is well made and classy. It screams sophistication and oozes luxury. The shade isn’t quite a jewel tone, but very near it, so it would work with just about every skin tone. Do you usually stay away from wearing greens? This may very well change your mind.

Not do good bits: I was disappointed that the dress was a bit too roomy on me which caused the gathers to hang weird. And I’d forgotten how much static velvet creates! I walked outside in the wind and regretted it for the next hour or so as it clung to me making static filled crackling pops.

I kicked around town on Saturday in Avon’s Iconic Lipstick in Merry Mauve (a sweet and soft baby pink shade) along with Beautiful Blue Tassel Statement Earrings that I picked up on clearance!

Avon is killing it with their Iconic Collection! I showed off the Iconic Avon Pearly Poinsettia Necklace and Earring Set (sadly, already sold out) and Iconic Lipstick in Wine Kisses – a limited edition shade just for this collection!

Nobody could miss the giant Festive Red Flower Earrings I donned on Monday – lightweight showpieces!

These earrings are bloomin’ awesome! (<—-See what I did there?) Surprisingly lightweight and smooshable, so talking on the phone wasn’t problematic.

It’s Favorites Friday!!

I fought off testing out Avon’s MagiX Face Perfector for years before finally giving into all the pressure from customers and team members to just try it out.  Why?  Because I have picky sensitive skin.  Nearly every time I try something new, my face rewards me with breakouts; and if it really doesn’t like a product, I get the ultimate prize: cystic acne.  This fact alone made me gun shy, but add to that the knowledge that this product intentionally covers up your pores to create the illusion of a flawless finish and the deal was sealed: I wasn’t ever going to try this thing.  No way, no how.
